A New ERA BEGINS — Canada’s Longest Running Basketball Show Returns!

After a decade of delivering expert analysis, unforgettable interviews, and grassroots basketball coverage, The Basketball Show with Paul Sir is turning the page. It’s time to say goodbye to the legacy format — and hello to a bold new chapter!

Introducing ‘Hoop City with Paul Sir’

Broadcasting live on Sports1440 and online every Saturday from 10AM to Noon, Hoop City is a reimagined version of the show that builds on its foundation while embracing a fresh look, expanded reach and renewed energy.

Why the Change?

Paul Sir’s unmatched experience — from playing and coaching at every level to leading the Alberta Basketball Association for 15+ years to being the color analyst for the Edmonton Stingers and pioneering 3×3 in Canada — has shaped a show that’s ready to evolve. Hoop City promises to deliver the best in hoops, from local legends to global game-changers.

The Hoop City name is synonymous with North America’s largest FIBA3x3 basketball showcase in Edmonton and the consistency of the brand across the entire basketball landscape made the timing ideal.
